Get inspired! Get focused! Get writing!

American Short Fiction tackles on the art of storytelling in a series of craft talks this fall. Each event will include a discussion of craft; a short, idea-generating exercise; and creative exchange with fellow writers. These craft talks offer a sample of our creative writing classes, which launch in October.

On Thursday, September 30, come drink a glass of wine (or a cup of espresso) and get your creative juices flowing at our final fall Craft Talk. Dalia Azim, a writer whose work is forthcoming in American Short Fiction, will lead the discussion and exercises. Dalia, winner of  the Glimmer Train Short Story Award for New Writers, will be teaching our class "Quick Fires and Jump Starts," which opens on October 12. Her fiction has appeared in Aperture, Glimmer Train, Other Voices, Pindeldyboz, among other places.

Learn something, get inspired, and connect with others in the community. We'll be there at 6; the talk starts promptly at 6:30.
